This is by far my favourite song from this year’s selection, possibly my favourite song from the entire national final season. If this doesn’t represent Croatia this year, I’ll be devastated. It’s incredibly catchy, and the opportunities for a great performance in Malmö are very much present. The song itself is well produced, especially for a relatively new artist, and has musical moments that remind me of artists such as Rammstein. The lyrics are also great, with Baby Lasagna being able to encapsulate the feeling of leaving your hometown to move to the big city, hoping to fit in but at the same time not wanting to leave behind your roots entirely. It’s very clever, musically appealing, and overall just a song that was absolutely made for me. Some comparisons with Käärijä can be made based on the performance regarding the visuals of the show, but then again, “Cha Cha Cha” is my most played song of all time, so I can’t deny that it only makes things even better for me!
