SVT appoints Eurovision Song Contest 2024 core team

After the momentous victory of Loreen in Eurovision Song Contest 2023, the Swedish Public Broadcaster SVT is starting prepararions for hosting the 68th Eurovision edition by appointing its executive team in charge.

The core team of next year’s Eurovision Song Contest consists of four staff

The staff members of the executive team are Ebba Adielsson, Christel Tholse Willers, Tobias Åberg and Johan Bernhagen.

Ebba Adielsson takes over as the Executive Producer and the holistic responsibility of Eurovision Song Contest 2024. While Ebba assumes her new role, she will temporarily stand out of her current role as Head of SVT Entertainment.

Talking to Eurovision.tv, she said:

“I am very proud and excited about this extraordinary assignment and can finally present the first key roles and leadership of the core team that will lead Eurovision Song Contest 2024. It is impossible to find a more experienced trio in this context, and it feels extremely reassuring to have them on board in this gigantic and very complex productions.”

Christel Tholse Willers assumes the role of the Executive Producer. He will be the Focal Point for press, communication, brand and event in partnership with the Host City. Christel is experienced in Eurovision and Melodifestivalen since he had similar role during Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö.

Tobias Åberg is the new Executive in Charge of Production by controlling the overall technical production. Tobias was also member of the core team in the contests hosted by Sweden in 2013 and 2016 while he was the Head of Production or Technical Expert for the last eight contests, most recently supporting this year’s Eurovision in Liverpool.

Johan Bernhagen is taking over the role of the Executive Line Producer and he will be the Focal Point for the finance and the overall general production alongside with, Tobias Åberg. Johan was the Executive Producer of the Eurovision 2016 together with Martin Österdahl and Head of Productions in Malmö in 2013.
