Rehearsal review

Rehearsing right now inside the Rotterdam Ahoy is RAFAŁ, performing “The Ride” for Poland. We will continue to update this article as each run through takes place, so make sure to keep refreshing for the most up-to-date review!

RAFAŁ begins his performance with a neon light checkerboard effect on the backdrop whilst we see RAFAŁ all in black with his all-familiar sunglasses. He is joined by four male dancers in black shirts and white suits who have small white lights in their hands and – surprisingly – an on-stage backing vocalist. RAFAŁ immediately interacts with an on-stage camera which has quite a dizzying effect on the viewer. Into the first chorus, we see an image of RAFAŁ on the LED backdrop which continues to show the theme from his music video.

As we move into the second verse, RAFAŁ takes off his sunglasses and moves onto the catwalk with his dancers whilst continuing to provide choreography. As he moves across the catwalk, we see images from the music video projected onto the transparent LED strip and arrives onto the satellite stage for the second chorus.

As we approach the final chorus, RAFAŁ puts his sunglasses back on as he walks back to the main stage and then attempts lots of new ad-libs in the final chorus which will need a bit of extra fine tuning in the upcoming rehearsals. For his final run through, we have additional fire fountain pyrotechnics throughout the song to provide some extra sparkle to the performance.

Rehearsal video clip

We will update the article, once the EBU has uploaded the rehearsal video clip on the official Eurovision channel.
