Last month, Gjon’s Tears released “Tout l’univers”, his entry for Eurovision 2021. The song marks SRF’s third consecutive internally-selected entry. In light of this current success streak, the broadcaster has launched the search for the jury members that will select their next entry. Switzerland have joined the likes of Israel, Germany and Australia in confirming their participation early.
With over a month to ago until the 2021 contest, SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR have already launched their search for Eurovision Song Contest 2022! The call has been made to find the 100 members of the Eurovision Jury that will help determine the Swiss act and song for next year’s contest. You can fill out the survey to find jury members here.
The details indicate that Switzerland will continue to internally select their entries for next year’s, following the success of Luca Hänni in 2019 and the continued success of Gjon’s Tears. Switzerland are currently second in the odds to win the 2021 contest.
On a winning path?
Last March, Swiss broadcaster SRF announced Gjon’s Tears as their representative for the 2020 contest in Rotterdam. At the same time, his entry “Répondez-moi” was released, which was Switzerland’s first French-language entry for 10 years. The song quickly became a favourite to win the 2020 contest.
Just a few weeks later, the 2020 contest was cancelled as a result of the pandemic. However, SRF quickly announced that Gjon would be back to represent Switzerland at the 2021 contest.

Earlier this year, it was revealed by Gjon’s Tears and the the Head of Delegation Reto Peritz how the song was selected. Thirteen songs were created at the songwriting camp, and these entries were then produced across the continent before being presented to a jury of 100 Swiss residents and 20 international experts, in both their live and studio versions.
