OGAE Second Chance Contest 2022 entries announced

The entries taking part in the OGAE Second Chance Contest have been announced. OGAE Norway will organise the event this year, following KEiiNO’s impressive victory with “Monument” last year.

OGAE Second Chance Contest entries

In the list of entries, we see many runner-ups from national finals. These include Australia’s Voyager and France’s Pauline Chagne. Other countries have opted to go with fan favourites, such as La Rappresentante di Lisa for Italy. On the list, it seemed OGAE Ukraine had chosen Alina Pash. However, Alina cannot take part, as she actually won Vidbir this year. Due to political issues, she eventually didn’t represent Ukraine. Kalush Orchestra replaced her and managed to take the crown in Turin. OGAE Ukraine will now have to choose a different song for the competition.

From 14 to 27

Last year, only fourteen countries took part in the annual OGAE contest. This was mainly due to many countries now selecting their entries internally following the cancellation of the 2020 contest. Many of them have now returned, with 27 acts now lining up.

Among the 27, we see OGAE Rest of the World. They have the choice between the countries which hosted a national final without sending an act to the contest. Choice was limited this year, but they have chosen Cristina Ramos, who entered Una Voce per San Marino this year.
