He wowed the crowd in 2013 where the contest was held in Malmö, Sweden. Now he wants to wow the UK as he readies his campaign for the upcoming Fifteenth series of The X Factor: UK.

The hopeful Romanian is not the only former Eurovision alumni to be competing for their chance for stardom this year. Brendan Murray is one, he represented Ireland with the song “Dying To Try”. Brendan didn’t qualify and finished Fifteenth in the Semi-Final in 2017. Gaia Cauchi is the second, she represented Malta in Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song “The Start”. Gaia had better results than Brendan as she swept to victory in 2013 with 130 points. Similarly they both had to travel to Kyiv, Ukraine to compete in their retrospective countries in their respective contests.

Irish and Maltese Eurovision stars audition for The X Factor UK
Eurovision and The X Factor: UK have history.
Many former Eurovision stars have tried their luck at The X Factor: UK. Last year Montenegro’s Slavko Kalezić and Berget Lewis from The Netherlands reach the judges’ houses phase of the competition. But no one was more successful on the show than Saara Aalto from Finland who finished Runner-Up to Matt Terry in the Thirteenth series back in 2016.
Some performers have gone to Eurovision after competing on The X Factor: UK. Ireland 2011 and 2012 entries Jedward sent the United Kingdom’s 2017 entrant Lucie Jones home, being one infamous example.

Romania was represented by Cezar with this song “It’s My Life” in 2013. The contest was being hosted in Malmö, Sweden. His signature classical crossover style and over the top stage show saw him become a fan-favourite and is still remembered to this day. Coming in Fifth Place in the Semi-Final with 83 points, he therefore qualified for the Final. In the subsequent Final. He came in Thirteenth Place with 65 points.
