On the second week of them claiming the top spot on Billboard’s #EmergingArtists chart, Måneskin have been featured by the iconic music publication Rolling Stone. In light of their ongoing success thanks to both Sanremo and Eurovision, the band have attracted the attention of both fans and music journalists across the world.

Commenting on the release of the music video for “I Wanna Be Your Slave”, the band discussed their aesthetic and the incorporation of sexual freedom and expression in their visuals.

When we were younger, we were not that confident or sure about ourselves, but we had the chance to grow up together and support each other. We want to share our experience with our fans, and we try to encourage people to be who they are. Everyone should have the right and possibility what they want to share or what they want to be without being judged or sent away.

Damiano David on the band’s aesthetic

Despite the break-neck pace of their current momentum, the band are showing no sign of slowing down. They began writing their third album last year. However, more recently they have been working on new material, including a collaboration with Ukraine’s GO_A. In the interview, the band claimed that they intend on releasing their next album before the end of the year.

While the pandemic has largely prevented them from playing live to their new and growing fanbase, they have every intention of hitting the road soon. The band dream of sharing stages with the likes of the Arctic Monkeys, Rolling Stones, and Foo Fighters. Eventually, as Damiano put it “we want to be the headliners.”
