The Scoop🇵🇱 Poland

Songwriters Ylva and Linda Persson blame Lidia Kopania for “wasting a good song”

The twins are not happy!

Tonight Poland chose their Eurovision 2022 representative and Ochman was selected to represent the country with “River”. However, the songwriters of one of the songs in the final weren’t happy with the way the singer performed their song.

“A good song goes to waste”

Ylva and Linda Persson, who have taken part in several Eurovision national selections over the past years without ever winning, have been vocal about tonight’s show in Poland on Facebook. They criticise the artist Lidia Kopania for not singing “the melody and lyrics that they wrote at all”.

Lidia Kopania previously represented Poland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 with the song “I Don’t Wanna Leave”. Based on the singer’s past experience at Eurovision, the Persson twin sisters wanted her to sing their song “Why Does It Hurt?” in Poland’s national selection this year. However, now they believe a good song has gone to waste after Lidia took too much artistic freedom during the performance at the Tu bije serce Europy! Wybieramy hit na Eurowizję.
