Junior Eurovision 2021: meet the hosts

Host broadcaster France Télévisions have revealed the hosts for this year’s 2021 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The 19th edition of the contest will be hosted by Élodie Gossuin, Olivier Minne and Carla! 

Elodie Gossuin is a radio presenter, columnist, and TV host. In 2001 she won the title of Miss France and Miss Europe. Eurovision fans will recognise her as the French spokesperson for the the 2016, 2017 and 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. (“You-ou-ou-ou-ou” anyone?”)

Olivier Minne is a Belgian-born French television presenter who is best known as the presenter of Fort Boyard. He was the French commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest between 1995 and 1997.

France’s 2019 representative Carla will also join as a host. Her song ‘Bim Bam Toi’ was a big success at Junior Eurovision 2019 in Poland, going on to be a viral hit on TikTok.

About Junior Eurovision 2021

Only days after Valentina’s win, the EBU were quick to confirm that we will be travelling to France for the 19th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The contest will take place on December 19th at La Seine Musicale. The slogan of the contest will be Imagineand the logo was unveiled in August.

In total, the following 19 countries have been confirmed by the EBU as taking part in the 19th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest:

  • Azerbaijan
  • Bulgaria
  • France
  • Germany
  • Georgia
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Kazakhstan
  • Malta
  • Netherlands
  • North Macedonia
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Russia
  • Serbia
  • Spain
  • Ukraine

Among the 19 we see returns for Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Ireland, ItalyNorth Macedonia and Portugal. However there are withdrawals for Australia again, and of course the expulsion of Belarus. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 will be broadcast live on December 19 and starts at 17:00 CET. Stay tuned in the coming weeks and months ahead, as broadcasters begin selecting their acts for Paris 2021!
