New Music Friday – this week with Alexandra Rotan, Hurricane, Elena Tsagrinou & more!

Ten of the best new songs from Eurovision artists!

Another week comes to an end and that means it’s New Music Friday! So it’s time to share the best new releases from the Eurovision world before we all settle into festive mode. Over the following pages is everything you need to know for your weekend playlists!

Alexandra Rotan – ‘O Helga Natt’

First of all on New Music Friday is KEiiNO vocalist Alexandra Rotan. Some of you will have noticed that Alexandra has been away from the group lately. That is because she took part in Norwegian reality singing show Stjernekamp 2021, where she finished runner-up. During the show, celebrities take on different genres of music each week. However in ‘O Helga Natt’ is taking us on a nostalgic festive trip in this Norwegian tribute to the traditional ‘O Holy Night’ classic. Meanwhile as a group, KEiiNO recently released ‘A New Beginning‘. So indeed it will be, as the trio will return to Australia to perform at Australia Decides 2022, as well as embarking on a new Australian tour!

Hurricane – ‘Set The World On Fire’

Never was there a more accurate song title. Fresh from their recent visit to New Music Friday, the trio are sending us loco once more as they start a fire tornado across the Balkans with their latest banger, ‘Set The World On Fire’.

Elena Tsagrinou – ‘Savvatovrada’

Earlier this year Elena Tsagrinou continued Cyprus’ successful qualification Eurovision run with ‘El Diablo‘. Now she’s back with new music and giving her heart to Saturday nights instead of the devil. ‘Savvatovrada’ sees Elena inspired by the 70s Disco-Synth vibes, with no sleigh bell in sight for this party track. Below you can see Elena joined by fashion designer Ioanna Touni for the song’s premier at MadWalk 2021.

Giusy Ferreri – ‘Gli Oasis Di Una Volta’

Last week Rai revealed the song titles for the artists competing in Sanremo 2022 next February. Already Giusy Ferrari has wasted no time in getting fans excited for her Sanremo return, after her previous appearance in 2017. Over the years Giusy’s legacy of hits has ensured she holds the record for the most weeks spent at the top of the Italian charts. In ‘ Gli Oasis Di Una Volta’ or ‘Oasis of Yesteryear’ Giusy hopes to add to that record. Although a departure from her recent Summer bangers, this new single is no less powerful. The melancholic ballad showcases Giusy’s range as she narrates through song, a toxic relationship. Next year, fans can look forward to an as yet untitled sixth album.
