Vidbir 2022

Interests in Vidbir 2022 are running high. Ukraine’s public broadcaster Suspilne has revealed that in the first week of opening applications, they received a total of 53 submissions. We can only imagine what the tally of applicants might look like on 10 January. This is when the submission window closes.

The line-up so far

The strong interest in Vidbir 2022 has garnered participants from Ukraine and beyond. Some artists hail from Hungary, Germany and Armenia, just to name a few. In fact, the diversity and quality already looks promising. In fact, Suspilne has reported that the applicants may include familiar faces. This includes previous participants in The Voice Ukraine, X-Factor Ukraine, Junior Eurovision, as well as Tik-Tok stars.

With this, Suspilne has arguably increased the stakes at Ukraine’s National Selection. If Ukraine’s spotless record is anything to go by, we can again expect great things from them.

I'm a dedicated Eurovision fan and new ESCXTRA contributor from the other side of the globe in Australia. Even though I'm fairly new to Eurovision, seeing as I was first introduced to it in 2016, this hasn't stopped me from looking back on all the previous years and loving the contest more and more.
