“Halo” by LUM!X feat. Pia Maria out on March 11th

The online music store Beatport has revealed that the Austrian Eurovision entry “Halo” will be released on March 11th. A one-minute-long snippet of the song was also available for listen through the store.

The 19-year-old DJ LUM!X (Luca Michlmayr) has gained success with hits such as “The Passenger (LaLaLa)” and “Thunder“. In 2019, he released the song “Monster” with Gabry Ponte, who is known from the group Eiffel 65. The song has reached over 210 million streams on Spotify and it has sold more than 400,000 copies in Germany, given the artists a platinum record. Overall, he has over one billion streams, over 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify and multiple platinum and gold certifications. For his Eurovision entry “Halo”, Tyrolean singer Pia Maria is on the vocals.

Austria will compete in the first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin. LUM!X and Pia Maria will perform their song “Halo” on the second half of the show on May 10th. Last year Austria was represented by Vincent Bueno. He represented the country with “Amen” but failed to qualify to the final. Last time we saw Austria in the final in 2018, where César Sampson finished third with “Nobody but You”.
