The United Kingdom Eurovision contestant, Sam Ryder, has performed a mashup of his Eurovision entry ‘Space Man’ and ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’ by last year’s Eurovision winners Måneskin.
Your Lyrics, Different Song
Sam Ryder performed this mashup on the BBC Radio 1 programme ‘Your Lyrics, Different Song’ with Scott Mills and Chris Stark. As the title of the segment indicates, Sam sang over the instrumental of ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’, keeping the lyrics of ‘Space Man’ in time with the music. It’s a very impressive effort from the UK hopeful.

In the clip, Scott Mills talked about getting Italy’s votes. While lighthearted, it is true that any Eurovision contestant would be doing very well if they achieved the success of Måneskin. ‘I Wanna Be Your Slave’ has been an international hit that followed up their winning song ‘Zitti E Buoni’. It went viral on Spotify and appeared in many charts across Europe in top-ten positions. The Italian band has been a huge success story for Eurovision. 2022 may yet produce its own stars, and Sam Ryder will no doubt be hoping to be one of them.
