Turin 2022🇭🇷 Croatia

Mia Dimšić teases details of new staging for “Guilty Pleasure”

The delegation have asked Rai and the EBU for permission to include Croatian lyrics.

Back in February, Mia Dimšić was chosen to represent Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with “Guilty Pleasure”. Although she won Dora 2022 with a huge lead in both the jury and televote, the delegation planned major changes to the performance in Turin.

After announcing that the staging in Turin will be different to the national final, Mia has shared further details to the performance, including potentially singing some lyrics in Croatian! Earlier this month, she had released a full Croatian version of the entry.

Speaking to RTL, she stated that the delegation is currently awaiting approval from RAI and the EBU to include Croatian lyrics in the Eurovision performance.

We’ve totally changed the stage performance to have elements of surprise.

As reported by Eurovoix, Mia is set to be joined on stage by one dancer and two backing singers for her performance on stage in Turin. We already knew that the choreography and the styling would be completely different from the Dora performance.

About Mia Dimšić

A former languages student, Mia has been singing professionally since 2014, when she performed as part of Džentlmeni, touring in the US and Canada for members of the Croatian diaspora.

In Croatia, she went on to release a string of Croatian singles and an album – Život nije siv, which topped the Croatian albums chart back in 2016.

In February, she won Dora from a field of 14 artists with her debut English language single “Guilty Pleasure”, topping both the jury and televote. In a massive increase in overall votes cast compared to last year’s edition, Mia got almost 2.5x the amount of televotes as last year’s winner – Albina.

Mia will perform 11th in the first semi-final on May 10, hoping to bring Croatia to the Grand Final for the first time since 2017.
