Rehearsal review

Stage presentation

We start with the lead singer at the piano, with some clever camerawork right at the outset. Once the song gets going, the stage explodes with colour and energy, and the rest of the band is included in this very enjoyable performance.

The band name appears on the floor of the arena with all the bold, block colours – yellow, red, blue and green. Pyros are included from the end of the second chorus, before the guitar solo and it accompanies the keychange excellently.

Costumes and styling

The band are all dressed in their fashion-forward retro-inspired outfits – their styling is absolutely on point for this song, but also both with nods to the era of punk-pop and appropriate for 2022.

Vocal quality

Absolutely pitch-perfect throughout, this whole performance comes across with such confidence and experience.

Overall impression

Once “The Show” gets going, the performance really kicks in with a huge amount of positivity, warmth and sheer delight. For the viewer at home, it will be great to see how much the energy in the arena translates from the audience in Turin to the televoters through the TV. If people haven’t been paying too much attention after two ballads, this could really wake up the show!
