With all the goodwill behind Luxembourg returning, I’m sure everyone was very anxious to see what they’d have after so long away. If they’re going to come back with a bang, I think they would have a very strong case to be made with a dramatic ballad like ‘Drowning In The Rain’. This is very reminiscent of Elsie Bay, who Melodi Grand Prix fans will know, and it’s easy to see why, she’s one of the writers here. That’s only been a good thing in the past and it continues to be here. I hope that Krick can really smash this out of the park live, because I am very attached to the thought of Luxembourg returning with a show-stopping masterpiece like this. Though there’s also a few other options in this national final they could do well with, I think for me, it has to be Krick.

‘Drowning In The Rain’ got me hooked right after the first listen. The song has a similar vibe to Elsie Bay’s last attempt in Melodi Grand Prix (Love You In A Dream), which isn’t a surprise since she’s one the credited songwriters of this song. Having this power ballad as Luxembourg’s returning entry after more than 30 years of absence would definitely make justice to the years when Luxembourg was a Eurovision powerhouse. I’m very curious to see the staging for this song and how Krick will pull off this song live.
