🇷🇸 Hurricane release three new music videos

The group dropped THREE new songs yesterday, including cover of Esma's "Čaje Šukarije"

Serbia’s Hurricane have undoubtedly been one of the most prolific artists from the Class of 2020. Besides the literal four versions they released of “Hasta La Vista”, they have also released SEVEN further singles. If that wasn’t enough, the group dropped THREE new tracks, each with a music video.

As teased on the group’s official Instagram, Serbian pop sensations Hurricane released not one, not two, but THREE music videos to accompany new tracks on Friday.

The first was a cover of the iconic “Čaje Šukarije” by Roma icon Esma Redžepova. Here’s the original, and below is Hurricane’s version:

Just three minutes later, they dropped a brand new song called “Lopove”. Written by Alex Caneras and Nikki Caneras; the track is a glorious throwback to the likes of INNA and Alexandra Stan:

And three minutes after that, they dropped another new track, “Want Ya”. The song was written by Bryan Todd, Adis Eminić and Vanessa Campagna, and is the only track of the three that’s in English:

“Lopove” and “Want Ya” will be released on streaming services soon, but in the meantime, you can stream “Caje” alongside the latest singles from both Eurovision and national final alum via our New Music Friday playlist:

About Hurricane

Hurricane are a Serbian girl band that was formed by Zoran Milinković in 2017. The trio consists of Ivana Nikolić, Ksenija Knežević and Sanja Vučić. Ksenija has previously appeared on the Eurovision stage as a backing vocalist for her father, Knez. Knez represented Montenegro in Vienna and placed 13th in the final.

Eurovision fans will also know Sanja Vučić, who represented Serbia in the 2016 contest with the song “Goodbye (Shelter)“. The song finished 18th in the grand final.

The group have become one of the biggest emerging pop acts in Serbia over the past couple of years. The music video for their song “Favorito” has reached over 64 million views on YouTube in just under a year.

Back in December, we reported that they were among the rumoured artists to be taking place in Beovizija 2020, which proved to be true. Earlier this year, they won the selection with almost 20,000 votes in a landslide victory. It is currently unknown whether the group will be performing at Eurovision 2021, but we expect RTS to confirm their intentions for the next contest once the pandemic ends.
