A “Unicorn” for Noa Kirel

“Unicorn” is set to make waves with fans eagerly anticipating its release this week. The song was written by an Israeli team, led by Doron Medalie, who has previously worked on the Israeli entry seven times between 2008 and 2018, which includes “Toy” by Netta. The team also includes May Sfadia, Noa Kirel, and Yinon Yahel.

Noa Kirel, a 21-year-old award winning singer, actress, and television host, was selected by KAN to perform the song after they decided not to hold a national final for the first time since 2012. This decision marks a significant departure from tradition, and fans are eager to see how the young star will fare in the international contest.

Kirel’s involvement in Eurovision is particularly noteworthy, given her impressive track record in the industry. She has already won multiple awards for her talents, and her unique blend of acting and music has won her a legion of dedicated fans.

Kirel revealed a snippet of her song as well, which you can see at the bottom of this article.

Israel in Eurovision

Last year Michael Ben David sang “I.M.” in Turin and failed to qualify from semi-final two. This was the first time the country hasn’t qualified since 2014. In total, Israel have won the Eurovision Song Contest four times, most recently in 2018. The last time Israel used a full internal selection, in 2012, they also failed to qualify. Noa Kirel will perform “Unicorn” in the second half of the first semi-final.
