Australia to compete in Sofia!

After officially being invited several months ago to field an entrant in the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, it was just revealed that Australia will be the 17th participant in Sofia.
The singer and song that will represent Australia has been selected internally by Australian associate EBU member SBS and will be revealed on Friday.
SBS managing director Michael Ebeid was predictably delighted to announce the news saying;

Eurovision is a landmark program for SBS and we’re so proud to be part of an event which brings people together to celebrate creativity and diversity through music. We’re delighted to have secured another opportunity to showcase Australia’s amazing vocal and song-writing talent to the world, this time through an incredibly talented young artist. We look forward to giving Australian audiences a surprise second dose of Eurovision fun this year.

Australia will join Ireland as débutantes to this years contest after Irish language broadcaster TG4 decided to field a contestant in the 14th edition of the Junior Eurovision. The contest will be held on November 21st in Sofia, Bulgaria.
