Another week comes to an end and that means it’s New Music Friday! So it’s time to share the best new releases from the Eurovision world this week. Over the following pages is everything you need to know for your weekend playlists!

Duncan Laurence – ‘Heaven Is a Hand to Hold’

Although his two year reign as Eurovision champion is over, Duncan Laurence is still reigning supreme in the charts. Recently his winning single ‘Arcade’ stormed the Billboard Chart Hot 100, reaching a peak of no.78. As well as surpassing an impressive 400million streams on Spotify. On the back of this incredible success Duncan returns this week on the original soundtrack for Love, Victor Season 2. The Hulu series is the spin-off to the critically acclaimed film, Love, Simon. New single ‘Heaven Is a Hand to Hold’ is an uplifting anthem teaching us to use the lessons of the past to move forward.

Eric Saade – ‘Like U Used To’

Next up on New Music Friday is the very popular Melodifestivalen star and Sweden’s 2011 Eurovision runner-up, Eric Saade. Now back in collaboration with the Debs, Eric is taking us back to a 70s disco groove in new single, ‘Like U Used To’. Earlier this year he was loving it every minute. Yet here that love is fading as Eric sings a melancholic story of accepting his fate and enjoying his own space.

The Mamas – ‘Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini’

Although Melodifestivalen 2021 was not the fairytale ending anticipated after their victory with ‘Move‘ and Eurovision 2019 debut with John Lundvik, nothing keeps these three ladies down for long. Back and ready for the Summer, The Mamas have put their own twist on this novelty classic. First recorded by Brian Hyland in 1960 the song about a shy girl wearing a revealing polka dot bikini became a global hit. Later in 1990 it was given a pop reboot by British band Bombalurina fronted by Timmy Mallett. Now with a refreshed modern dance beat and harmonising as only The Mamas can, the song takes on a new form as an inspiring anthem of body positivity. “Showing her curves, showing she came to slay!”
