Junior Eurovision: Alexander Minenok will sing for Belarus

Alexander Minenok has won the Belarusian Junior Eurovision selection final and will now represent Belarus in Valletta this November. A total of 10 songs competed in the selection televised live on BTRC in Minsk. Alexander will be performing the song “Muzyka Tvoikh Pobed” which translates as “Music Of My Victories” in English. The young singer from Minsk won the selection with a total of 20 points. Junior Eurovision: Belarusian final on Friday 26th

The Belarusian public broadcaster, BTRC, will host a national selection for Junior Eurovision 2016 on August 26th to decide who will represent Belarus on November 20th in Valletta, Malta. BTRC announced the final will take place at 21:00 CET and will be broadcast live on the TV channels Belarus 1 and Belarus 24, as well as on the official website of the media holding TVR. A total of ten contestants were selected to take part in the competition. These artists were picked by a professional jury panel and the votes from the TV viewers last month. Junior Eurovision: Ireland selects 32 participants for “live” shows

One of Ireland’s regional newspapers – Kildare Now – has revealed some details regarding Ireland’s national selection process for the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest which will take place in Valletta in November. Junior Eurovision: Georgia is in with a national selection

Georgia has officially confirmed its participation in the Junior Eurovision 2016, as a call for songs has been made. Georgian Public Broadcaster has launched a national selection procedure to choose the Georgian representative at the next Junior Eurovision. GPB has made an open call for songs to compete in a national final. The window for submissions is open until midnight on September 25th. The date of the selection final has not yet been announced by the Georgian broadcaster. Soloists aged 10 to 15 from across Georgia can take part in the National Contest. The singers are asked to send in their songs, a photo, and a CV.  The winner of the national selection will represent Georgia at the 14th Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta. The Russian national final took place in Crimea last night and the 14-year-old singer Sofia Fisenko was crowned the winner and will wave the Russian flag in Malta. The votes from the professional jury – including among others the famous composer Igor Krutoy, the Russian show business star Philipp Kirkorov and the singer Irina Dubcova – combined with the internet voting left Sofia with the maximum amount of points: 36. Three years ago, the young artist tried without success to represent her country at the Junior Eurovision, but this year she has managed to grab the trophy. “When I came on stage and saw how many people were supporting me, I cried with happiness. I am very happy and pleased to have won “- said Sofia Fisenko on TV. Junior Eurovision: Ukraine selects its 12 finalists

Ukraine won the Eurovision Song Contest on May and it is eager to win the kid’s competition too! Earlier in July NTU confirmed that they would be participating at the Junior Eurovision 2016 in Valletta and they would be staging a semi-final to select their hopefuls. Today a four-hour long show with more than 30 competitors was broadcast to decide which of the junior artists would go through to the live final that will take place on September 10th. Junior Eurovision: Ukrainian semi-final on Saturday 13th

The semi-final of the Ukrainian national selection for the Junior Eurovision 2016 will be held on Saturday, 13th of August at 10:30 CET. Young artists from all the corners of Ukraine will join to compete for the right to reach the final stage of the selection and represent their country at the Junior Eurovision 2016 in Malta on November 20th. The jury in charge of choosing the finalists will be composed of the singers Maria Burmaka and Svitlana Tarabarova; the general director of the Ukranian music themed channels M1 and M2, Valentyn Koval; the producer Vadim Lysytsia, and the director of Junior Eurovision 2013, Victor Knysh. The finalists will be announced on the official website of the Ukrainian national broadcaster. Ukraine has only won the competition once, even though it has been four times in the top 5 and it has hosted the competition twice.

Junior Eurovision: Russian national final on August 15th

After finishing in the 6th place last year with Mikhail Smirnov and his song ‘Mechta’, Russia, one of Junior Eurovision’s most successful countries, will host their national final on Monday 15th of August in the international children center of Artek, Crimea. A total of 16 participants have been selected by RTR from all the submitted applications and both the jury and the online voting will have a say on the winning song. The winner will be chosen by a 50/50 jury-online voting split, with the professionals gaining preference in case of a tie. The show will be aired on the kids channel Karusel, with pre-recorded performances. However, the results will be announced live. You can vote and listen to all the 16 songs HERE. Russia first appeared in the competition in 2005 and has always competed since then. They only hold one victory but have managed to get in the top 5 six times. Will they have the same fate in Malta? Junior Eurovision: It's Anahit and Mary for Armenia

Armenia has announced that the 13-year-old singers Anahit Adamyan and Mary Vardanyan will represent Armenia at the 2016 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Malta. Their song is set to be released in autumn. Anahit started her professional singing career in 2013 when she competed in Russia’s The Voice: Kids and composer Igor Krutoy’s Battle of Talents. Anahit says that she is a fan of Junior Eurovision and has watched the show for many years.  “I’m very honoured and happy to be given a chance to represent Armenia at this year’s Junior Eurovision! I can’t wait to share the stage with Mary. I’m sure we are going to have a blast!” said Anahit. Mary started her musical studies in 2011 and has participated in many music competitions including the Renaissance International Music Festival in 2015. “I’ve always dreamed of singing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. I can’t believe that my dream is finally coming true! I’m very excited, and I promise that me and Anahit are going to do our best to impress everyone this November!” said Mary.
