Ladies of Soul release ‘Feel Good’

Ladies of Soul release ‘Feel Good’

Dutch group Ladies of Soul have released a new single, Feel Good. The group consists of not one, not two, but three Eurovision singers: Edsilia Rombley, Trijntje Oosterhuis and Glennis Grace. The fourth singer is Trijntje’s new sister-in-law, Berget Lewis. The group is completed by saxophone player Candy Dulfer. More Eurovision connections (and also the last one…) for this new song is the composer: Tjeerd Oosterhuis. He is Trijntje’s brother, Edsilia’s husband and also the composer of Edsilia’s 2007 entry, On Top Of The World, which failed to qualify. Like Glennis. And Trijntje… The new song will be used to promote the Valentine’s Day concerts the Ladies of Soul will be doing in 2016. Before the concerts can take place, Trijntje Oosterhuis will be giving birth sometime later this year, around the time of her Walk Along tour. What do you think of ‘Feel Good’? Let us know!
Il Volo’s new single and video

Il Volo’s new single and video

Have you watched Il Volo’s new video? Maybe not, because it was released TODAY!! 😀 This is “L’Amore Si Muove” (“Love moves”) and it is the new single out of the trio’s Grande Amore album. It definitely has the romantic trademark that these boys instill in their music and that we like so much. However, this is a powerful mid-tempo, not a ballad like their ESC entry. The video shows a couple’s love story throughout time in beautiful locations and it also features the boys becoming three grandpas at the beginning and at the end of the video (don’t miss the “Tutti Frutti” gift the grandpas give). Take a look below and let us know what you think 😉

“99”: Ruth Lorenzo is back with a new single.

Ruth Lorenzo is back with an english single titled “99”. The song will be the leading single for the reissue of her successful album “Planeta Azul”, out next October. The new song has a different sound from the previous single, more on the lines of Taylor Swift’s last album 1989. It is a rather busy moment for Ruth, who will participate in the new season of “Tu cara me suena” (the Spanish version of “Your face sounds familiar”. The singer will also embark on a tour throughout Spain during autumn, right after the release of the special edition of the album. MØRLAND & … eh, just MØRLAND

MØRLAND & … eh, just MØRLAND

Kjetil Mørland, who represented Norway in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, is finally releasing his first solo single, “No Firewall”. During the past week and a half, Kjetil has revealed one piece a day of the art work for “No Firewall” on his Instagram, and today he posted the final piece. And the result? After living in Brighton for several years, Kjetil has now moved back to Norway. So far in his career he has always worked with other people; in England he was part of the band Absent Elk, and then he worked with Debrah Scarlett on “A Monster Like Me”. Now he has decided it is time to show the world what he can do when he’s going it alone, and “No Firewall” is the perfect song in this respect. During the NRK morning radio show “Nitimen” yesterday he explained the title of his first solo single; “Well, it¨s really just another metaphore for not having a safety net, no parachute. It’s about all of sudden becoming single, about ending a long relationship and having nothing but a clean slate.” Which is pretty much how it must feel to be going solo musically as well. Yesterday morning he premiered …

Talking about the song, the singer said that the song describes her life in the last years “jumping from one leg to another”. The song will be included in Emmelie’s EP that will be released later this year. The music video for the song was filmed last month in Italy and is expected to be released soon. Nina is back with Real Love/Rather Be

Nina is back with Real Love/Rather Be

Serbian singer Nina, who graced the Düsseldorf stage in 2011 with her entry Čaroban is back with mashup covers of Clean Bandit & Jess Glynne’s Real Love and Rather Be. This is Nina’s first release since she moved to Australia to pursue a PhD in Pharmacology, studying at the prestigious Melbourne University. “Living in this awesome city inspires me to do more covers like this and continue with my music.  I feel like I’ve been away from music for too long and I feel amazing for having such a great reactions so far.” Nina said when asked about her break from music. Balancing a PhD while making music is hard, but for Nina it is about finding a balance. “It’s not easy, but if you love music as much as I do, you can always find some time. Even if it means singing and planing your arrangement while working in the lab.” The video was shot in a number of places in Melbourne including the Botanical Gardens, St Kilda Beach and the Central Business District. Check out Real Love/Rather Be below. And why not reacquaint yourself with Čaroban, which finished 14th in the final.
Måns Zelmerlöw’s live performance of new single!

Måns Zelmerlöw’s live performance of new single!

With just several weeks to go until Måns strikes Europe once more with the launch of his european tour, it was recently announced that the follow up single to his Eurovision winning anthem Heroes would be Should’ve Gone Home, a slow building chilled out ballad to be taken from his latest album Perfectly Damaged. This evening, Måns gave the song its first live television performance on TV4’s Lotta på Liseberg – where it was decided the best place for Mans to perform the track would be the roof of an old building as opposed to a nice high raised glossy stage! Not that it really mattered at all as Måns delivered a fantastic performance which can be seen below: Listen to the studio version of the song here:
Stig Rästa is back with new song from Traffic

Stig Rästa is back with new song from Traffic

Less than two months after returning Estonia to the top 10 at Eurovision, Stig Rästa is back alongside bandmates Traffic with the new single ‘Sekundiga’. The film clip which was filmed earlier this week features a staggering number of Estonia’s big name stars including former Eurovision participants Ivo Linna, Lenna & Piret from Vanilla Ninja, Getter Jaani, Ines, Tanja, Elina Born, Maarja and 2001 winner Tanel Padar alongside a number of former national final participants. The song which in English translates to ‘Seconds’ keeps in line with Traffic’s rock sound, tinged with folk similar to what we heard in their Eesti Laul 2014 offering ‘Für Elise’ with a distinctly summer feeling. Check out the song below
Ovi and Paula Seling become OPS

Ovi and Paula Seling become OPS

It’s taken them five years, but Paula Seling and Ovi have now decided to find a name for their duets. Instead of ‘Ovi & Paula Seling’, we’ll see the name ‘OPS’ from now one. Sometimes, you just don’t need complicated names… The duo has immediately released their first single under the OPS name and interestingly, they didn’t complicate matters there either. Their single is called S.A.M.P. – and OPS promise a different sound from what their fans are used to. The song is a cover from a Eurovision attempt we saw in 2014: She’s After My Piano by 2 Fabiola ft. Loredana in Belgium. The song went on to become a massive summer hit over in Belgium, despite losing out to Axel Hirsoux and his Mother in the national final. The choice for She’s After My Piano is no surprise, not only because of its status as summer hit, but also because Ovi wrote the song himself. He entered the song into the Belgian national final the same year he and Paula went to Eurovision with Miracle. Ovi describes “OPS” as a “natural continuation of the 5 years of collaboration with Paula”. Both will still have solo projects under individual names, but the OPS ‘brand’ aims …
Sebalter decides to focus on law instead of music

Sebalter decides to focus on law instead of music

Sebastiano Paù-Lessi, professionally known as Sebalter, has decided to quit professional music. On his website he published a statement saying that he wants to go back to law and make that his life. Is that the final whistle on Sebalter’s music…? Back in 2013, the freshly graduated lawyer decided to take a jump. The former violin player of Vad Vuc wrote Hunter of Stars and entered the Swiss selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. He, much to his own surprise, convincingly won the national final, travelled to Copenhagen and won the hearts of Europe when he qualified for the Grand Final. About that time, Sebalter says: As was the case in the first selection [the Swiss national final], the result of Copenhagen and, most importantly, what it has achieved, has been beyond all expectations. Fortunately it came at a time of my life – at around thirty years old – that I was able to analyse the situation well, without letting myself get too enthusiastic (the risk of losing his head in such cases is high) but even downplaying the extent of what was happening. It was great: requests for television and public appearances increased dramatically. His following music, including an …
