🇬🇧 Morten Harket unmasked on The Masked Singer UK

The host of Eurovision 1996... the Viking!

Morten Harket, who hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996, has been unmasked as Viking on the ITV show The Masked Singer UK. After performing Coldplay’s “The Scientist” on Saturday’s night show, he was unmasked in the show’s first double elimination.

Known worldwide as being part of “Take On Me” hitmakers a-ha, Morten made it through to episode six of the show, being eliminated alongside comedian Sir Lenny Henry. Eurovision fans may also remember Morten from the 1996 contest in Oslo, which he hosted with Ingvild Bryn.

Five stunning performances

Fans of the show were often in awe of Viking’s vocal talents, which he showed off during five performances on the show. He also managed to stump the panelists – Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan – who were unable to identify who was “behind the mask”.
