Turin 2022🇬🇪 Georgia

Georgia’s Eurovision entry by Circus Mircus out on March 10th

We have the date!

Today the Georgian broadcaster GBP has announced that their entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will be released on March 10th. The entry is performed by Circus Mircus, who got announced to represent the country back in November.

The music video for the entry was also supposed to premiere on March 10th, but the plan was changed due to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine. According to the decision of the band members, the audience will hear the song on a black background.

Circus Mircus describe themselves as circus academy dropouts and consider themselves the worst in the circus crew. In their music, they try to neglect as many of the common frameworks as potentially possible. The band was formed in late 2020 and released songs under curious titles such as “The Ode to Bishkek Stone” and “Weather Support”.

Emilia Sandquist, who is part of the Sacha Jean Baptiste group, will be directing the performance in Turin. Previously Sacha Jean Baptiste has been the staging director for Georgia’s Nika Kocharov & Young Georgian Lolitaz, Nina Sublatti and Tamara Gachechiladze. Last year Emilia directed Tornike Kipiani’s performance in Rotterdam.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Georgia will compete on the second semi-final on May 12th. Circus Mircus will be performing on the first half of the show.
