Australia will not return to Junior Eurovision in 2022

"There are no plans to broadcast Junior Eurovision this year."

Having debuted at the Junior contest back in 2015 and competing in five consecutive editions, Australia will not be returning to Junior Eurovision this year. This comes as both potential broadcasters have ruled out participation.

Although SBS has overseen Australia’s Eurovision participation since their 2015 debut, ABC oversaw the country’s Junior Eurovision participation between 2017 and 2019.

Last month, ABC confirmed that they would not be bringing Australia to Yerevan this December. This month, SBS confirmed to That Eurovision Site that they will not be broadcasting the contest, confirming the country’s third consecutive non-participation.

SBS is always exploring new ways to entertain audiences and enhance their Eurovision experience, however there are no plans to broadcast Junior Eurovision this year.
