Grammy consideration
On the 14th of October, the Serbian representative of 2022 Konstrakta revealed on Instagram that she has been put forward by a member of the Recording Academy for the shortlist of TWO Grammy awards! In true Konstrakta style, we see her walking on a marketplace shopping for a typical white look. She reveals that she is being considered for a Grammy for ‘Best New Artist‘ and ‘Best Global Music Performance’. She emphasizes that she is not yet shortlisted for the awards, but needs the votes of the Grammy voters to make it to the next round. Voters were able to make their decision between the 14th and 24th of October. With an exciting tone in her voice, Konstrakta tell us the shortlisted candidates will be announced in November. At last, she urges all viewers to spread the world and support her with ‘thought pressure’. Our fingers are (freshly washed &) crossed!
Konstrakta in Eurovision 2022
In 2022, Serbia selected the singer-songwriter Konstrakta through Pesma za Evroviziju to represent them in Turin with “In corpore sano”. Attracting attention for her avant-garde song and a striking performance that included hand-washing and subtitles to deliver the song’s pointed lyrical message, including critiques of the Serbian healthcare system and mass media, she placed 5th in the Grand Final. With 312 points, this was Serbia’s best result since 2012.
