In the most dramatic national final of the season, Ann Sophie has won the ticket to Vienna. Or well she didn’t. But she did.

Andreas Kümmert was announced as the winner of the show, but at that moment, he decided he could not accept the invitation and decided to withdraw. His fellow superfinalist, Ann Sophie was at that moment invited to represent Germany. After booing from the audience, she eventually accepted the invitation and has decided: She is going to Vienna.

Andreas Kümmert said he wouldn’t feel comfortable winning this, after the moment Barbara Schöneberger announced him as the winner, he took the microphone and said he wouldn’t go, also stating health reasons for his withdrawal. Ann Sophie will sing Black Smoke in Eurovision 2015.

Media Liaison: One of the founding members at escXtra. I'm the Dutchman who loves every little idiotic Eurovision fact there is. I usually listen to a lot of Eurovision music, but when I'm not, I listen to country music, schlager and pop, but mostly artists like Tina Turner, Emma, Ilse DeLange and Helene Fischer. On escXtra, you can find me doing pretty much anything that needs doing: Interviews, liveblogs or just your daily portion of news!
