Albania’s representative in Vienna, Elhaida Dani spent some time at the piano with escXtra ahead of Sunday’s London Eurovision Party. We discussed the scramble to assemble a replacement for ‘Diell’, and why ‘I’m alive’ is a rather more complex song than you might notice!

The song’s production team, Zzap & Chris, are from Kosovo, so Shkodër-born Elhaida feels that she also represents the Kosovar people at Eurovision. We discuss the song’s staging, plus she has messages in English and Albanian for her fans. Watch our interview with Elhaida here, and her live acoustic performance with us below:

Albania will perform 14th in the running order of the first semifinal on 19 May, hoping to reach the final for the first time since Rona Nishliu’s 5th place  in 2012. Suksese Elhaida!

My role at Xtra isn't too dissimilar from my previous life as a school teacher, but they're a well behaved class. Also responsible for dropping bum notes on a piano.
