It’s the start of the longest day in the Eurosphere as we have two dress rehearsals for the second semi-final, but first off, the automatic finalists are taking to the stage for their second runthrough before drawing their starting half for the grand final.

Follow all the action on our live stream at www.escxtra.com/live or www.escxtra.com/live/mobile, on our Twitter, @escXtra, or in our live blog of proceedings below. We will also be uploading rehearsal videos to www.youtube.com/escxtra so look out for those.

FRANCE
Lisa gives another assured performance, and the staging is fully unchanged from Sunday with one exception. The purple dress has gone, replaced b a simple black dress. The song itself will struggle to figure in a 27-song show, but the vocals are strong and the imagery of the drummers on stage and in the backing graphics are effective.

Vocally, the UK seems steadier than on Sunday. The camera work is pretty choppy for most of the song, making things feel rather disjointed rather than energetic. The neon lights do work effectively, but in 2015 I doubt they will have a wow-factor. There’s no sign of pyros today, but they may well be keeping the powder dry today.

The UK up next. The lights are pretty but that was the only thing I enjoyed. This is just trashy, and not in an entertaining Bojana kind of way. Better luck next year UK.

Ann Sophie’s second run-though is a little more shouty, but this time the sultry wink at the end finds the right camera.

GERMANY:
Ann Sophie sounds really impressive this morning. Her tone has been smoother in recent weeks as she’s still going for the more sulty/sexy thing rather than bombastic. The staging is identical to the first rehearsal, and apart from a small miss with the finishing pose, everything is going smoothly.

ITALY draws SECOND HALF for the final.
Our Peter wonders will they be given the ‘honour’ of closing the show?

Vocally very on point. Edurne starts the song in a red cowl which predictably gets ripped off at exactly the point you think it happens to reveal a shiny gold dress that makes her look like an amazon.

This is straddling the line between hot trashy mess and really good very, very hard.

Second today we have the home team, Austria’s MakeMakes!

Effortless and classy is the best way to describe these guys. The stage is bathed in blue with which changes to gold in the final chorus. The lead singer beautifully soars through his vocals and it really just is a pleasure to listen to. I really don’t know how this will do, but it’s a pleasure to hear.

Il Volo from Italy are up first and it’s exactly what you expect from the trio. Vocally they’re completely spot on, but the little one with the glasses looks rather concerned throughout the rehearsal.

Overall I think there’s something missing in the camera work, but people are loving it here in the press centre anyway.

The biggest Mexican Eurovision fan (that may be a lie, but hope no one will verify) now living in and loving London. Slightly sentimental which is why I love a good power ballad and sufficiently trashy to love a good (Suzy)shake. When not eurovisioning, the music closest to my heart is (almost always) in Spanish, and love everything by Laura Pausini, Rosana, Ricardo Arjona, Gloria Trevi, Pablo Alborán and many, many more... And I hate Estonia's 'Everybody'.
