As we have mentioned before; it’s always a lot of fun when we see a Eurovision mix-up of some sort, for instance artists from different countries performing together  or Eurovision songs being covered in new languages. Today we give you the most amazing mix-up of them all; a wonderful Italian Eurovision entry turned into an Icelandic Christmas song, performed by a two time Eurovision entrant.

Gunnar Ólason represented Iceland in the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen as part of the duo Two Tricky. They performed “Angel”, finishing last with 3 points. He returned to Eurovision in 2011 in Dusseldorf, as part of the group Sjonni’s Friends. They finished in 20th place, having received 61 points for their song “Coming Home”.

I'm Norwegian, presently living in Iceland. My mom loves Eurovision, and always let me stay up to watch the contest since before I can remember, so I'm "second generation Eurovision lunatic". My musical god is David Bowie, so I'm obviously not into the stereotypical Eurovision songs. I prefer the rocky/bluesy/jazzy/ethnic songs over schlager and mainstream ballads, though I occasionally surprise myself (and others)... I HATE canned drums and "Cvet Z juga". Photo © Tobias König
