Former Eurovision Song Contest winner Charlotte Perrelli has been sensationally relieved of her co-hosting duties in next week’s second semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2016.

SVT themselves broke the news this morning that despite having met with Perrelli and her representatives, they could not come to an agreement and therefore had no option but to change her role within next week’s program.

This was followed up by Swedish tabloid Expressen who published the reasons behind the change in role. Scandipop, on Twitter, quoted the article and explained rather simply and succinctly:

Whilst we wait to see what this new role will bring for Perrelli next week, let’s relieve the moment she looked ever so alien-like on the stage in Belgrade in 2008 with “Hero”.

Technical Lead: I am a huge pop music fan and I love Rihanna, Years & Years, Sia, Zara Larsson and Sam Smith. However, more importantly, I love Eurovision. Melodifestivalen is my favourite National Final and if things look out of place on the website, it's most definitely my fault.
