News from the land of Junior Eurovision, but it’s not good news… Swedish broadcaster SVT will not participate in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Also CyBC, the Cypriot broadcaster, may see their participation in danger…

SVT has a new Director at their children’s channel and they are currently undergoing a restructure there, meaning that the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest simply does not fit into their 2015 plans. There is no word on how the restructure will influence participation in upcoming years.

Cyprus, like Sweden, don’t have a problem with the Junior Eurovision Song Contest putting their participation in danger. As announced on Twitter, the broadcaster simply didn’t plan any budget for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, but a solution is still being looked at.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 will take place later this year in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Media Liaison: One of the founding members at escXtra. I'm the Dutchman who loves every little idiotic Eurovision fact there is. I usually listen to a lot of Eurovision music, but when I'm not, I listen to country music, schlager and pop, but mostly artists like Tina Turner, Emma, Ilse DeLange and Helene Fischer. On escXtra, you can find me doing pretty much anything that needs doing: Interviews, liveblogs or just your daily portion of news!
