Israel has chosen the act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Hovi Star will represent them with the song Made of Stars. Hovi beat Ella Daniel and Nofar Salman in the final.

Before the superfinal, Gil Hadash was already eliminated. She failed to win her battle versus Nofar Salman. Hovi Star managed to beat Ella Daniel in the other duel, after which the jury decided to give Ella the third qualifying spot for the final, where she managed to impress the jury, but not the televoters. The voting on the Eurovision songs was a true nailbiter, with Nofar coming just 2% short of winning HaKohav HaBa L’Eirovizion.

The result tonight:

  1. Hovi Star – Made Of Stars: 68%
  2. Nofar Salman – Made Of Stars: 66%
  3. Ella Daniel – Somebody Out There: 58%

This result means that it will be the second year in a row where Israel is represented by a song written by Doron Medalie. He was previously involved in Golden Boy, which finished ninth in Vienna.
