After Switzerland winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 yesterday, Geneva is the first to bid for a chance to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Swiss media report that Geneva is the first city that expressed interest in hosting the Eurovision Song Contest, Palexpo a large event venue, has submitted a bid to the Swiss broadcaster SSR. Geneva also houses the headquaters of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) which organises the Eurovision Song Contest. Swiss media also reports that cities such as Zürich, Basel and Bern might be interested to submit a bid as well.
Previous editions of the Eurovision Song Contest hosted by Switzerland were held in Lugano (1956) and Lausanne (1989).
