Sandhja will Sing It Away for Finland

In a more unexpected turn of events, Finland has chosen Sandhja to represent them in Eurovision 2016. The 24 year old won it mostly on juries with herย Sing It Away.
Before the show, Sandhja was considered an outsider behind Saara Aalto and Mikael Saari. She had emerged as an outsider after her semifinal. During the final, Sandhja won the jury vote and came third with televoting. The full result is below, with the jury/televote breakdown in brackets.

  7. Eini – Draamaa: 61 (32+29)
  8. Stella Christine – Ain’t Got Time For Boys: 47 (19+28)
  9. Tuuli Okkonen – Don’t Wake Me Up: 41 (20+21)
