🇦🇺 Dami Im signs to ABC Music and teases Paper Dragon

Australian and Eurovision legend embarks on a new adventure

She flew the flag for Australia in 2016 in the Swedish capital – Stockholm and came agonisingly close to giving the Southern Hemisphere nation their first Eurovision Song Contest win on only their second attempt. But that has only made Dami Im stronger as she has signed on the dotted line on a contract with ABC Music. It won’t be long before we hear music from her as she announces that her new single “Paper Dragon” will be released on 18th September.

Paper Dragon was going to be Dami’s entry for Australia Decides in 2021. Due to the fact that Eurovision was cancelled this year owing to the Covid_19 pandemic so was Australia Decides. Their representative and Australia Decides 2020 winner Montaigne will be their 2021 entrant instead.

You can pre-order “Paper Dragon” on your preferred streaming platform here.

Dami the woman the Aussie legend

Dami Im shot to fame in 2013 winning The X Factor Australia. Mentored by fellow Australian pop icon Danni Minogoue. Performing with spellbinding performances encompassing every genre you can think of. Reflecting on her time on the show she had this to say.

That feels a lifetime ago, I have learned so many things as along the way, including who I want to be as an artist.

My personal favourite performance of her’s in X Factor Australia is her rendtion of “Clarity” by Zedd ft Foxes and you can see why below.

Dami then released her debut self titled album “Alive”. This birthed the lead single that was also called “Alive”. Both of them went to number one on the ARIA charts. With three further critically acclaimed albums, Dami secured her status as one of Australia’s greats in contemporary music.

Earlier this year she participated on the Australian version of Dancing With The Stars. Despite finishing at the bottom of the judges leader board five times her underdog spirit and popularity got her all the way to the semifinals where she was eliminated in fifth place.

That was so hard, but I’m glad I did it.

For old time’s sake let’s just relive her breathtaking performance of “Sound Of Silence”. Australia’s best result finishing in second place to Jamala’s “1944” who represented Ukraine.
