🇵🇱 Rafał to miss Turqoise Carpet ceremony due to positive Covid-19 test in delegation

Rafał and the his delegation go into quarantine awaiting test results

The EBU have just announced that Rafał from Poland will not attend the Turquoise Carpet ceremony. A member of the Polish delegation has tested positive for Covid-19 on a PCR test. The delegation will therefore undergo a PCR test themselves and quarantine until the results come back.

All negative on Thursday

The last time the person in question was present at Ahoy Rotterdam was on Thursday, when Poland had their second rehearsal. Upon entering the venue at that point in time, all members of the delegation were in possession of a valid negative PCR test result.

The person in question tested positive for Covid-19 upon entering the venue this morning. There was a routine test taking place, where the delegation member received a positive test result. Immediately after receiving a positive test result, the delegation member has gone into isolation. As a consequence, the entire delegation will now go into quarantine. They will all undergo a PCR test and will await their results in their hotel rooms.

The obligatory quarantine at this point means that Rafał and his delegation will miss the Turquoise Carpet Ceremony tomorrow evening. They will still be in quarantine when the ceremony takes place. The EBU have confirmed that they will update the press and fans in due course once more information comes through.

Rafał the second person to deal with protocol

It is the second time this week that the Health and Safety Protocol regarding quarantine and isolation has been activated. Earlier, Ukraine’s singer Kateryna Pavlenko was in quarantine after feeling unwell. She therefore missed GO_A’s second rehearsal. Emmie van Stijn, the singer who did the stand-in rehearsal last month, replaced her at the last second. Thankfully for Kateryna, she has been declared clear and received a negative PCR test. GO_A will therefore return to the stage in their original line-up during the dress rehearsals.
