Following their withdrawal in 2016, Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO has confirmed that they will not be returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. They join a string of countries who will not be taking part in the contest this December.
2021 will mark their 6th consecutive non-participation
Slovenia only participated in the Junior contest twice, between 2014 and 2015, before withdrawing in 2016. Despite this, they managed to score a third place finish in their final appearance with Lina Kuduzović’s “Prva ljubezen”. The broadcaster later cited the cost of participation as the reason behind their withdrawal.
