Eurovision is back! Delegations have landed/arrived in Vienna these last few days and rehearsals started yesterday. Just like last year, for the first rehearsal, the EBU releases information on the day of each reharsal, with a sets of three photographs publishe the day after. As such, today, we cover yesterday’s rehearsals, from the first half of the first semi-final (automatic qualifiers excluded). And we start with Moldova and Satoshi’s “Viva Moldova!”
And Moldova is, of course, coming back and opening the contest as a returning country.

What happened on stage?
This description is sourced from indications given by the official Eurovision Reddit account.
- The performance remains very energetic but Satoshi can use more space in the Wiener Stadthalle compared to the Arena Chișinău, and he does use most part of the stage (although not the entire catwalk).
- Aliona Moon is back and will sing along Satoshi, with a “special moment” teased by him in the official Eurovision Podcast
- The background will use lights to form a Moldovan flag at the beginning of the performance (although this may be part of the stage ready), and in any case, the LED screens will show “cute and colourful” backdrops which showcase Satoshi’s admiration for Japanese culture
- The performers will wear outfits close to those from the videoclip, with Satoshi wearing a blue football jersey with the 373 number on it (which is the calling code for Moldova: +373). Each of them also have “chains” on top of the shoulders and arms.
Here’s the small message Satoshi had for the Eurovision fans after his rehearsal:
Stay tuned for further coverage today, with the rehearsals of yesterday, and for our live coverage on the ground starting on May 9, which will include (among other things) the full dress rehearsals and the live shows, live from Basel!
