The United Kingdom, alongside Belgium and Germany, did not receive any points from the public vote during the Eurovision 2026 Grand Final. In this article, we dive behind the numbers to see whether the UK was close to enter a public’s top 10, and how it fared in average rankings.
A slightly better performance than 2025
Last year, the public votes of each country gave an average rank of 22.8 to the United Kingdom (the lowest one in the Final), with eight of them ranking it last. This year, things look slightly better but barely so:
- The United Kingdom is ranked, on average, at 21.8 so a full rank above, but with one less country taking part in the Final
- Unlike 2025, this is not the lowest-ranked country on average, but it ranks 23rd, ahead of Belgium and Austria
- Five countries ranked the United Kingdom last (Azerbaijan, Denmark, Italy, Luxembourg and Moldova), which is better than last year (when it was eight)
- However, 20 countries ranked it in their bottom 3, and 31 (out of 35) in their bottom 5
- The four countries that ranked it above that were Estonia (19th), Malta (18th), Moldova (18th) and Australia (15th)
