Nathan Trent catches the attention of singer/songwriter Jessie J

He struck a chord with fans when he represented Austria at last year’s contest with  Running On Air,  but now Nathan Trent has caught the attention of British singer and songwriter Jessie J.

The Rose Challenge

Jessie set out a challenge on social media that she hoped would empower fellow musicians.  Those interested would record a short video of themselves performing to the Rose interlude posted on her profile.

WATCH: Jessie J reacts to Nathan Trent’s submission

During a live stream on Sunday afternoon, Jessie reacted to several of the entries received, with Nathan’s submission being one of the first to be shown to the thirty year old.  She compares Nathan’s vocals to Michael Buble and his look to Calvin Harris – which we’re sure he’ll be flattered by!

“I feel humbled and empowered”

Nathan responded to Jessie’s video earlier today on Twitter, describing it as the ultimate sign that he’s taking the right path in his career.
