In early November, Kazakhstan selected both Alinur Khamzin and Beknur Zhanibekuly to represent the nation in their fourth Junior Eurovision appearance next month in the French capital city of Paris. Now, the duo have released the official music video and final version of their entry “Ertegi alemi (Fairy World)”.
Kazakhstan in Junior Eurovision
It was a surprise when Kazakhstan chose two winners of their national selection after both young performers were tied on points! They become the first duo to represent Kazakhstan who had selected three soloists up until this year. Last year, Karakat Bashanova placed second with “Forever” matching the runner-up spot earned by Yerzhan Maxim in 2019 with “Armanyńnan qalma”.
The nation made their debut in 2018 after receiving a special invite from the European Broadcasting Union to participate in Minsk where the Junior contest was held that year. The honour of being their first ever representative in any Eurovision competition went to Daneliya Tuleshova who earned a sixth place finish with “Ózińe sen”. After a run of successful results, surely it is only a matter of time before Kazakhstan earn their first Eurovision victory?
What do you think of the final version of “Fairy World”? Could Kazakhstan finally claim that win after two consecutive second-place finishes? Let us know in the comments below!
