La Zarra at Eurovision
France Télévisions announced that La Zarra would be their representative at Eurovision 2023 in January. During a special press conference, Alexandra Redde Amiel revealed the news to the press. She is the current Head of Delegation for France.
La Zarra is a rising French-speaking Canadian singer whose real name is Fatima-Zarra Hafdi. She was nominated in the “French-speaking musical revelation” category for the 2021 NRJ Music Awards. She was discovered by a music producer during a party. The day after, she was in his recording studio. Since then, she has featured in songs and clips of bigger artists like Niro. La Zarra first started releasing covers, but in her own style. Her own style can be described as a mix between rap and classic French chanson. For Eurovision, La Zarra promised a modern song with a classic French touch – true to her own style. At the same time, the singer did want to try something “new” for Eurovision.
Below, you can listen to La Zarra’s most popular single to date. It’s called “Tu t’en iras”.
