Eurovision is back! Delegations have landed/arrived in Vienna these last few days and rehearsals started last weekend. Just like last year, for the first rehearsal, the EBU releases information on the day of each rehearsal, with a sets of three photographs published the day after. As such, today, we cover yesterday’s rehearsals of the automatic qualifiers. The third one on stage was France, with “Regarde !”.
🇫🇷 France – Monroe – First rehearsal
The following pictures have been published by the official Eurovision accounts.
What happened on stage?
This description is sourced from indications given by the official Eurovision Reddit account as well as information given by the delegation to French outlet 20 Minutes.
- Monroe is wearing afully white outfit: a skirt, a tie, a shirt, a waistcoat and a pettycoat on top, most of it made of cotton and silk
- Five dancers join her on stage, dressed in black
- The lighting and LED graphics also use a contrasting palette of black and white tones
- The performance is inspired by “romantic painters” and is described by the delegation as “a living painting”
- Monroe starts at the very back of the stage, and finishes the performance at the end of it, 30 metres down the catwalk
- At some point, the dancers try to stop her advance
- There is also some strong use of a steadycam during the performance
Here’s the small message Monroe had for the Eurovision fans after her rehearsal:
Stay tuned for further coverage of the closed rehearsals, and for our live coverage on the ground starting tomorrow, which will include (among other things) the full dress rehearsals and the live shows, live from Vienna!
