Raise your hand if you already had your hopes up!
After since Loreen’s win in Liverpool last week, fans hoped and speculated that the iconic Swedish band ABBA would reunite next year during Eurovision. It would have been exactly 50 years since ABBA won the contest with the iconic song ‘Waterloo’, which kickstarted their succesfull international career. Unfortunately this is likely not going to happen, according to ABBA’s spokesperson.
“We have not made plans for that”, is what she told the Swedish broadcaster SVT this Thursday. The speculations of fans are just “wishful thinking”.
People are not delusional to think ABBA could have been performing at Eurovision next year, as the group has recently started performing in one of a kind hologram concerts. Those concerts take place in a venue in London, build specifically for them. The holograms by Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson are accompanied by a ten-piece band. At the premiere, the four Eurovision stars reunited in public for the first time in 36 years.
