Yesterday on 6th of June plenty of Eurovision artist celebrated their birthday. Today however, there are three Eurovision ladies that have a birthday. Their Eurovision performances were very far apart, that is in the ’60, ’80 and this year! Sophie Carle, Anneke Grönloh and Franka Batelić were born on this day! Anneke Grönloh,  76 In 1964, Netherlands selected the famous singer Anneke to be their representative at Eurovision Song Contest. Which means she sang “Jij Bent Mijn Leven” on the stage in Copenhagen, Denmark. At the end of the show, she got 2 points which matched Belgium’s score and therefore they finished in joint 10th place. Sophie Carle, 54 Luxembourg went with Sophie Carle to Eurovision in 1984. Therefore she got to perform in her home country. Because Luxembourg had won its 5th victory the year before. She sang the love song “100% d’amour”, and received 39 points, that is she earned the 10th place. Franka Batelić,  26 Croatia picked Franka to go on their behalf at Eurovision in 2017. Therefore she sang “Crazy” at the first Semi-Final in Lisbon. Unfortunately for her she did not advance to the final! Here is a small live interview we did with her …

After a rather slow start to June when it comes to Eurovision birthday, today does what it can to increase the daily average! Five Eurovision stars celebrate their birthday today; three girls and two guys! Two of them were born on the exact same day, even though they are not twins; ByeAlex and Igor Cukrov!  Tini Kainrath, 50 Tini represented Austria at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm. She was part of the group The Rounder Girls, alongside Lynne Kieran and Kim Cooper. They performed the up-tempo, 60s inspired song “All To You”. On the big night they recieved 34 points, thus finishing in 14th place. Mariana Popova, 40 Mariana represented Bulgaria at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. She performed the song “Let Me Cry”, which is an uptempo song, in the semi-final. From the dreaded second position in the running order, she was awarded 36 points. This meant she finished in 17th place in the semi, thus failing to qualify for the grand final. ByeAlex, 34 ByeAlex, or Alex Márta, represented Hungary at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. Yesterday on 4th of May, three Eurovision artist had a birthday. Today however there two Eurovision singers that celebrate their birthday. Both of them are really successful in the music industry. One sang in 1978 and the in 1993Colm Wilkinson and Enrico Rufferi were born on this day. Colm C. T. Wilkinson, 74 Ireland selected Colm in 1978 to be there reprecentative at the Eurovision Song Contest. Therefore he performed the upbeat song “Born to Sing” in Paris. His song got 85 points at the contest, that is it ended in 5th place. Enrico Rufferi, 61 Rufferi won Sanmero two time. First in 1987 with the song “Si può dare di più” along with Gianni Morandi and Umberto Tozzi. He also won in 1993 with the song “Mistero” as a solo singer. That gave him the chance to be Italies reprecentative at Eurovision Song Contest. Although Enrico picked another song, that is “Sole d’Europa”. Which he performed in Milstreet, Ireland. Yesterday we celebrated two Eurovision birthday girls; Ester and Monika! Today, however, we only have one Eurovision birthday boy. He’s not “only” anything, though, as he is a Eurovision winner! We give you Eldar Gasimov! Eldar Gasimov, 29 Eldar Gasimov represented Azerbaijan at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf. As part of the duo Ell & Nikki, alongside Nigar Jamal, he performed the song “Running Scared” in the first semi-final. They finished second, thus sailing into the grand final. There, they managed to score 32 points more than Italy, thereby securing the first win for their country. Prior to representing his country at Eurovision, Eldar Gasimov participated in Milli Seçim Turu 2011. This was the hunt for that year’s Azeri Eurovision representative. It was one of the longest national pre-selections we have seen, starting off with a staggering 77 singers. 11 singers competed each week, with four shows per week, seeing the artist singing a foreign song, an Azerbaijani song, a Eurovision song and a song of their own choice. On 1st of June three Eurovision artist celebrated their birthday. Today, however, two Eurovision ladies have a birthday. One of them tried multiple time to enter the contest and the other had to make a choice in what country she would compete. Monika Likytė and Esther Hart were born on this day! Esther Hart, 48 In 2003, Esther both entered the BBC national selection and as well as the NOS, Ducth selection. Esther decided to rather go for her own home country selection. That he was a good decision, because she won the selection there with the song “One More Night”. Therefore she performed at Eurovision in Riga Latvia. At the contest she got 45 points, that is she finished in 13th place out of 26 countries. Monika Likytė, 26 Lithuania selected the duet Monika Linkytė and Vaidas Baumila to be their representative at Eurovision in 2015. Before this Monika had entered the national selection 5 times in a row. In addition trying for Junior Eurovision in 2007. Like mention, her chance at Eurovision came in 2015. Today, just like yesterday, we bring you three Eurovision stars to celebrate; two birthday girls and one birthday boy. The oldest is 47 and the youngest is 33. None of them did very well in the contest, but a couple of their entries have become classics among the fans. One of them has even participated twice! We give you Jónsi!! Marjon Keller, 47 Marjon represented the Netherlands at the 1986 Eurovision Song Contest in Bergen. At the time she was just 16 years old. She was part of the girl group Frizzle Sizzle, with sisters Laura and Karin Vlasblom and Mandy Huydts. They performed the song “Alles heeft een ritme”, finishing in 13th place. Jónsi, 41 Jónsi, or Jón Jósep Snæbjörnsson, represented Iceland at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul. He performed the emotional ballad “Heaven” in the grand final. Having been one of the pre-contest favorites, he finished in a rather disappointed 19th place. Three years later, in 2007, he entered the Icelandic national final with the song “Segðu mér“, but like everyone else that year, he was defeated by Eirikur Hauksson and “Valentine Lost”. Yesterday on 30th of May three Eurovision artist had a birthday, including one from Croatia. Today there is also an Croatian Eurovision singer and two others that have a birthday. One of them was her countries debut act at Eurovision, as well as performing in the same year as one of the birthday boys. Sopho Kalvashi, Tony Cetinski and Kenan Doğulu were born on this day. Tony Cetinski, 49 Croatia selected Tony to be their second representative at Eurovision. Therefore he performed in Dublin with the song “Nek’ ti bude ljubav sva” in the year 1994. At the show his song got 27 points, that is ended in 16th place out of 25 countries. Kenan Doğulu, 44 Turkey selected Kenan to go on there behalf to Eurovision in 2007. That is why he performed “Shake It Up Shekerim” in Helsinki, Finland. Where he got 163 points therefore finishing in 4th place at the contest. Sopho Kalvashi, 32 The same year as Doğulu performed, 2007, Georgia took part at Eurovision for the first time. They chose Sopho to be their debut act. Yesterday on 29th of May two Eurovision singers had a birthday. Today however there are three Eurovision singers that celebrate their birthday! Two birthday gals and one birthday boy! Two of them are actually born in the same year. Pasha Parfeny, Claudia Beni and Donna McCaul were born on this day! Donna McCaul, 34 Ireland selected the siblings Donna and Joe McCaul to go on their behalf to Eurovision in 2005. Therefore they sang “Love?” at the stage in Ukraine. At that time she was 21 year old and her brother only 16 years old. This was the first time Ireland took part at a semi final and also the first time they did not qualify from it. Claudia Beni, 32 Claudia went for the national selection in Croatia the first time in 1998, then only 12 years old. Her time at Eurovision came later on, that is in 2003. When Beni won the national selection, Dora, with the song “Više nisam tvoja”! That is why she got to perform in Riga, Latvia. Yesterday on 28th of May, and Belarusian representative had her birthday. Today, however, there are two Eurovision artist that celebrate their birthday. One of them even performed a song named “Celebrate”. Daria Kinzer and Wyn Hoop were born on this day. Wyn Hoop, 82 In 1960,Germany selected Wyn to be their representative at Eurovision. That is why he performed at the 5th Eurovision in London. His song was mostly performed in German, despite having the French title “Bonne Nuit Ma Chérie”. Hoop’s entry finished in joined 4th place, because Norway got equal amount of points. Daria Kinzer, 30 Croatia selected the Croatian/Austria singer Daria to be their singer at Eurovision in 2011. Therefore she performed the song “Celebrate” in Düsseldorf, Germany. Unfortunally for her, the song did not advance to the final. Yesterday on 27th of May, two Eurovision singers celebrated their birthday. Today however there is one birthday lady from Belarus and Mali. She was a part of a duet with Uzari. Maimuna has a birthday today. Maimuna Amadu Murasjko,  38 She was born in Russia, her mother is Belarusian and her father is from Mali. She however grew mostly up in Belarus. Belarus selected her to be their representative at Eurovision in 2015. Therefore, she along with  Uzari, performed the song “Time” at the stage in Vienna, Austria. Unfortunately for them, there song failed to to qualify to the final. This was Belrusian’s 12th entry at Eurovision, the 13th act “Help You Fly” also placed the same in the semi final .
