It’s time for our Croatia trivia quiz! Croatia are a country often on the sidelines of Eurovision, having never won. They did however have a great run of form in the 90s and recently have shown signs that they might get that form back.

With some weeks before we begin looking forward to Eurovision 2019, it’s that time in a Eurovision fan’s year to reflect on past years and all the good music and events they brought. And, also, some trivia.

So You Think You Know… is a new series that will arrive each Wednesday, each time focusing on a new active Eurovision country. We are continuing alphabetically. Czech Republic will be next.

Amazing isn't it? Even more amazing and sad, is that aside from a 10th place in 2001, they haven't returned to the top 10 since.

1999 entry Marija Magdalena attracted controversy for what reason?

There was seemingly little problem with the lyrical content or the dress, but what did get Croatia into trouble that year was the offstage male choir. As punishment they were docked one third of their marks average, making it less likely they could participate next year. They did anyway.

author’s note: My Friend is the most entertaining and wonderful thing to hit the Eurovision stage in years. This of course refers to the Facebooks post that Jacques made after Salvador lamented that nothing about Eurovision had changed since he won.
