After JJ’s victory in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, numerous Austrian cities are declaring their interest to be the host city for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026. Next to consider a bid is the Austrian city of Innsbruck hoping to offer their location as the home of Austria 2026.
Innsbruck for Eurovision 2026?
The famous ski resort and two time hosts of the Winter Olympic Games are casting their net towards Eurovision. Innsbruck, the Capital of the State of Tyrol is considering submitting a bid to host the 70th Eurovision Song Contest 2026. Next year the contest will take place in Austria following JJ’s victory with, ‘Wasted Love’. In the aftermath, ORF confirmed the bidding process will commence in the coming days. The focus will be on venue suitability, proximity of the nearest airport and infrastructure.
“I’ve already given the order to prepare all the documents. We’ve had discussions with the tourism association, and we’re also in talks with ORF and the event venues about how we can make a good offer for our city.”

The city of Innsbruck is the fifth most populous in Austria. The main arena is the Olympiahalle Innsbruck, which has a capacity of 12,000 when used for music concerts.
