EMA is taking place tomorrow, so we spoke to another contestant hoping to represent Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. This time, we spoke to Tim Kores who’s hoping to win EMA tomorrow with his song Once Too Many Times. Read what he had to say below!
escXtra.com: Hey Tim! Thanks for doing this interview! How are you preparing for EMA 2015?
Tim Kores: Of course, happy to do it, don’t mention it 😉
My EMA preparations look like this actually J I Like giving interviews, a lot of rehearsals, studio recording, photo sessions, brain storming about details on my performance, much interesting stuff… Drinking a lot water, Sunday lunches at my Granny’s 🙂
X: Could you introduce yourself and your music?
T: My name is Tim Kores, have two younger sisters, was born in beautiful town of Maribor. I am 25 years old, I like crazy unusual things like, Scuba diving, sky diving, sky jet driving, extreme sports…and more usual things like painting, cooking, studying Architecture and of course creating different music, form metal, rock, pop, pretty much everything I want 🙂
X: Who are your musical idols?
T: My no. 1 is James Hetfield from Metallica, Phill Collins, Dave Grohl, Sting, Corey Talyor…
X: Why did you decide to apply for EMA 2015?
T: It’s interesting because I already have two bands, metal band ‘’I vs. I’’ and PopRock band ‘’In&Out’’ but I still explore my musical universe and I’m trying to expend it even more. It’s a challenge for me, so I saw an opportunity in EMA 2015 to offer Slovenian music to Europe maybe in a different way till now. That’s of course my vision, but hope people can connect to that.
X: What was your first reaction when you heard you’d be one of the participants in EMA 2015?
T: I didn’t expect it, but in the end of a day, I was hoping that my name would appear in EMA’s 8 contestants. I was really in a little shock, but next thing you know, I smilled my face off 🙂
X: What can you tell us about the song you’re going to sing in EMA?
T: The song really means much to me, because one the best Slovenian producer Dejan Radičevič and I co-wrote it. It was written ‘’oldschool’’ way, I grabbed my guitar, played some random chords and started singing, nothing more than that 🙂 So from demo recording to real deal it became one of my favourite songs, it’s modern, melodic, sincere, with nice openings into choruses, dynamic… Maybe it could help someone to see himself in it and make him stay strong.
X: What would it mean to you if you’d win the ticket to represent Slovenia in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest?
T: Well that would be really extraordinary and marvellous! I would really like to be that male singer representative for my country, I’d noticed we didn’t have that for a long, long time in ESC. But nevertheless the gender doesn’t matter, there’s no recipe for that 🙂 I’ll give my best while expecting worse, hoping for the best.
X: Do you watch Eurovision every year?
T: I do, I’m always keen to hear the new artists and what they are creating musically. Every year the technique and the whole show gets even better and bigger, so also form that perspective is fun to watch 🙂
X: Do you have an all time favourite Eurovision song?
T: I could say Lordi – Hardrock Hallelujah, if say anything else I would lie 🙂
X: Finally, do you have a message for the readers of escXtra.com?
T: I’m sending one big Hello from Maribor Slovenia, hope you like my interview and music, I would be really great if we could see each other on TV from Vienna, but till then, stay escXtra 😉
escXtra.com would like to thank Tim Kores for his time and we’d like to wish him the best of luck in tomorrow’s EMA!
