Leonor Andrade, Yola Dinis and Gonçalo Tavares qualified to Saturday’s final of Festival da Canção after the first semi-final show in Lisbon. In total, six acts competed in tonight’s semi-final and two of them advanced to the final by tele-voting, while the third qualifier was selected by the jury.
The show broadcasted on RTP1 was hosted by Joana Teles and Jorge Gabriel and this year’s festival saw the return of a live band. Last year’s Portuguese hopeful, Suzy was the special guest of the night and she sang the fan favourite song Quero Ser Tua.
On Thursday there will be another semi-final, featuring six more acts. On Saturday, the final show will crown the winner of Festival da Canção.

The winner of Festival da Canção will represent Portugal in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 21st May.
